Approach

I support individuals ages sixteen and above experiencing challenges with their mental health and life circumstances. My approach is compassion-focused with the intention of creating a safe space for your healing. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and that my role as your supporter is to honour and help you to access the wisdom that already exists within you while offering gentle insight and opportunities for growth, change, and empowerment using evidence-based treatment modalities. We will work together to help you understand the neurobiology of the condition you are experiencing, how this impacts your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and how to work with your body instead of feeling at war with your natural instincts.

I tailor my approach to my clients’ unique needs, strengths, and values. Whether you have a specific goal in mind or are looking for general support, we will work collaboratively in a manner consistent with your expectations. In addition to the modalities listed below, I approach all interactions through culturally humble and trauma-informed lenses.

You do not have to walk this road alone. Everyone deserves to have the opportunity to process their experiences, thoughts, and emotions in a safe, affirming, and productive space. I look forward to working together in support of your wellbeing.

More than just my work: I am an extroverted introvert who loves nothing more than a night with good friends, family and some board games. I’ve been an athlete my entire life who has aimed to perfect my physical performance since I started crawling. Additionally, I also have an obsession with trying new foods from all over the globe. I am that person who goes into restaurants and asks the chefs to make me their favorite authentic dish! All in all, I aim for balance in my life: good health, good people, good memories and good food (best for last).

Whether you’re struggling with trauma, relationship issues, or sexuality struggles, my aim is to help you feel secure, confident, and connected. You might be feeling hurt, angry, and uncertain after being betrayed by someone close to you. Are you struggling with sexual concerns that are affecting your relationships, causing you to feel disconnected from your partner, and alone? When we are faced with feelings of distrust, resentment, guilt, or shame, the hope for change can seem far away. Therapy can provide a safe place for you to identify these feelings, identify the root causes, and feel empowered.

I have a dedicated focus on helping individuals heal from past trauma, first responder issues, sexual disorders and paraphilias, and infidelity. Understanding that trauma and sexual issues often intersect, impacting self-esteem, relationships, and emotional well-being. I utilize evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Somatic techniques, attachment theory, and “best practices” in sex therapy research.

Utilizing a client-centered and holistic approach, I am devoted to helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate challenges related to sex and intimacy.
